A major change in marketing was also brought in by the IFPCL. For last so many years, the traders were buying the agri-produce through bidding process without taking into consideration of the quality parameters of the crop, resulting in financial loss to the farmer. But an initiative was taken by IFPCL, wherein we started purchasing agri commodities according to the quality and at a price higher than the market. This has resulted in an increase of market price of produce. Now, the farmers are able to sell their produce according to its quality and thus earning the proper price for their produce. This has changed the market and made farming a profitable business.
